  1. Really nice: color, focus, depth of field, composition. I’d prefer not to have the vignetting, but that could just be me.

  2. What lens did you use. I am thinking about trying some macro. I am currently using a Canon 50mm 1.4 with a Promaster Achromatic Close-up lens. You have to get about 4″ to 8″ to get a shot. Sometimes thats a real pain.

  3. Great shot. I love, the colors, focus and depth of field. Maybe when you crop if you left a little more above the flower it would improve the balance.

  4. Nice photo. I like the fact that there are two flowers.

I am not sure about the white vignette… in my mind these fall in the category of gimmick and are rarely successful.

In this image, I think that the vignette is not really serving a purpose… the background is well enough out of focus to keep your attention on the subject without the vignette.

  5. Great choice to choose both a bud and what will happen later—the flower—in the foreground. The blurred background is a wonderful canvas. I agree with what has been said about the vignetting, although if you want to play with it, you may go from light to dark vignetting. It would match the dark water setting of the background lilies.
