The critters (turtles? tortoises?) are really interesting. I only wish they stood out from the background better. I don’t know how you’d do that, though. More contrast? Carefully burn in the area surrounding them?
Turtles, and yes, popping them from the background was a concern of mine. I was tempted to isolate them and reduce the vibrancy on the cypress knees but I felt it looked too contrived. I’ll keep playing with it. Thanks for your feedback!
Those turtles did no co-operate by blending in, but I like the composition otherwise I’d suggest cropping in on the one at the bottom left. Those gnarly roots and waters edge make a great backdrop.

An interesting photo-since it is a bit confusing, I would crop both sides and center more on the turtles.
