  1. A compelling photo to gaze at; The main subject, and her focused stare off camera raise many questions that one can only speculate on. In a perfect world, a bit more soft light on her face would be the ticket – but I suspect you didn’t have time for the world to turn perfect?! Nice capture.

  2. Composition is key. Those eyes draw me in, unkempt clothing and smudged cheeks define the subject. The slightly overexposed background won’t let me leave until I’ve fully appreciated the flower embellished hat.

  3. Emotion comes out. Looks like the subject could be asking “What kind of trouble can I get into in here?” or “Is my mommy here?” gives different stories depending on the question.

    1. This little girl was peeking out from behind plastic sheeting as our group toured her school. She seemed shy, but curious…thus the expression on her face.

  4. It looks like the kind of serendipitous moment that makes travel so rewarding. I like everything about this image!

  5. I really like the composition of this image. The little girl’s expression tells the story. I like the pink sweater and the repetition of the pink in the flower on her hat.

  6. Great image. I love the composition. I am impressed that the face is not in shadow. Especially, I like that ambiguous expression. You can see the wheels turning inside the little girl’s mind.

  7. You captured this quizzical look so beautifully. This is rich with nuances that kept me looking, The hat with the flower adds an element that is priceless. Love it!
