July 2020 — Virtual Meeting

Maybe the only advantage to virtual meetings… we can have one in July!

The navigation glitch is still here. Thus, come back to this page to navigate between photos (i.e. don’t use the previous/next links on each photos page).

May 2020 — Virtual Meeting

Here we go again! Things should work as they did last month.

A note on navigation… the “Next Image/Previous Image” links on the individual image pages (i.e. the pages where you can comment on an image) are unreliable and not limited to only this month’s photos.

Thus, the best way to navigate through all of the images is to return to the gallery display (using the back button in your browser) and then clicking on a new image to comment on. (This is not as smooth as it should be, but fixing it is beyond my capabilities… sorry!)

I will leave the comments open for thirty days this time. The amount of spam last month was small (only three comments) and they were all caught by the spam filter. Hopefully spam continues to be light and therefore invisible to you.

If you discover a glitch or have a question and want me to see your message in a timely fashion please email me directly (i.e. use my personal email address, not the generic club address) as I do not regularly monitor the club address.

April 2020 — Virtual ‘Meeting’

OK… here goes the experiment!

Below, you will find a gallery of photos submitted for this month. (The format is somewhat different from the usual gallery for regular meetings.)

If you click on an image in the gallery, you will be taken to a page for that individual image. At the bottom of this page you will find a mechanism for adding a written comment about the photos or for responding to a comment that has already been made.

Since the “conversation” does not happen in real time, you will have to check back from time-to-time to see what has been said.

In order to make comment, you will need to provide your name and email address. Your email address will not be published. I understand that this is somewhat cumbersome, but it will help minimize spam comments.

I have set the ability to comment on the images to turn off automatically in 14 days. I have done this for security and, again, to minimize spamming, If the “conversation” is still actively ongoing after two weeks, I will extend the time.

Regarding spam… hopefully the spam filter and the requirement to enter your name and email will minimize the amount of spam. I will be checking regularly to delete the (hopefully few) spam comments that appear. But my apologies in advance if some spam does show up.
